Job Description

FedEx Freight, a subsidiary of FedEx Corporation, is a premier provider of less-than-truckload (LTL) freight services across North America, specializing in reliable, timely, and efficient transportation solutions. As a leader in the logistics and transportation industry, FedEx Freight operates with a commitment to excellence, safety, and superior customer service. The company is well-known for its extensive network, operational precision, and ongoing innovation in freight management, which positions it as a preferred partner for businesses looking to streamline their supply chains and ensure seamless delivery of goods.

This availability of a Maintenance Technician role within FedEx Freight represents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team responsible for the upkeep and optimization of critical facilities infrastructure. The position is full-time and offers a competitive hourly wage range from $43.41 to $54.29. The Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the continued operation and safety of FedEx Freight facilities, focusing on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to maintain optimal working environments.

In this role, the Maintenance Technician will be tasked with performing repair and maintenance tasks on HVAC and mechanical equipment that support FedEx Freight’s operations. The focus is heavily geared towards maintaining compliance with national, state, and local codes while ensuring operational efficiency. A significant part of this position involves working in data centers, mission-critical facilities, or industrial environments where precision cooling and mechanical systems are paramount to business continuity.

The technician will carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of HVAC systems, monitoring environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, airflow, and pressure differentials essential for the proper function of data centers. Troubleshooting skills will be pivotal as the technician responds to mechanical and HVAC failures that could impact IT infrastructure or disrupt operations. Coordination with electrical and facilities management teams will also be a key component, ensuring mechanical and electrical system integration in a high-availability, safety-sensitive environment.

This role demands a hands-on expert with at least five years of relevant HVAC experience, especially in environments similar to data centers or other mission-critical sites. The technician should be capable of reading complex mechanical drawings, schematics, and control diagrams and demonstrate a commitment to safety protocols and operational documentation. The position requires physical capabilities to work with rotating equipment, handle heavy loads, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Participation in rotational on-call schedules and readiness to respond to after-hours emergencies is also required.

FedEx Freight’s culture emphasizes teamwork, disciplined operational standards, and adherence to safety, combined with opportunities for professional growth. This role not only supports the physical infrastructure but also contributes to maintaining FedEx Freight’s reputation for reliability and operational excellence within the highly competitive logistics sector.
