The Senior Supervisor Operations role at The Freeman Company is a vital leadership position within the Event & Exhibit Services branch based in Las Vegas, NV. This full-time, in-person position is essential for managing and supporting the operations team both on show sites and in the branch office. The primary objective of this role is to deliver seamless, high-quality event operations while keeping costs low and strictly adhering to safety policies and quality standards. This supervisor is responsible for coordinating some of the largest and most complex facility events, ensuring efficient collaboration among departments.

In this role, the Senior Supervisor Operations will lead a diverse team, provide training, monitor performance, and engage directly with clients and third-party vendors to uphold The Freeman Company’s high service standards. Additionally, the position involves strategic planning for labor needs, equipment scheduling, and ensuring that all operations comply with OSHA regulations and company safety initiatives. The supervisor champions a strong safety culture by promoting communication, accountability, and continuous improvements in safety practices.

The position requires a hands-on leader who can efficiently oversee multiple operational tasks, including interpreting job specifications, managing resources, coordinating with other supervisors, and maintaining detailed records for labor, production, and safety incidents. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience producing large tradeshows
  • Minimum two years supervisory experience
  • Five years of show site freight, decorating and/or installation & dismantle experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Carpentry skills
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and OSHA requirements
  • OSHA 30 Certification required
  • Forklift certification may be required
  • Ability to travel 25% to 50%
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Commitment to safety and compliance
  • Ability to work full-time in-person schedule and show-site based in Las Vegas, NV

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience producing large tradeshows typically greater than 1000 booths
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience
  • Five years of show site freight, decorating and/or installation & dismantle (I&D) experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Carpentry skills
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and applicable OSHA requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to apply and uphold safety policies and ensure compliance
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Job Duties

  • Directly supervise team members
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
  • Train team members, appraise performance, reward, and discipline team members
  • Participate in hiring and firing decisions
  • Address complaints and resolve problems with team members
  • Plan, organize, and direct operations department activities to ensure 100% customer satisfaction
  • Study production schedules, estimate labor hour requirements, assign standby labor
  • Work with account executives to meet their needs
  • Schedule and oversee multiple hall foremen
  • Submit and approve labor calls for all areas reporting to operations
  • Schedule equipment such as radios, scooters, scissor lifts, boom lifts, trailers, trucks, and forklifts
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods and quality
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency
  • Lead operations team to maintain high morale and teamwork
  • Maintain time and production records
  • Estimate, requisition, and inspect job-related materials
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities
  • Perform team member activities as needed
  • Prepare labor requirements and ensure adequate coverage
  • Schedule move-in and move-out times to minimize overtime
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety guidelines
  • Maintain communication with account executives and service desk
  • Prepare initial accident reports
  • Ensure maintenance and housekeeping standards for operations equipment
  • Submit final paperwork to operations director
  • Communicate and reinforce safety objectives and policies
  • Ensure employees complete required safety training
  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Investigate and document workplace accidents and hazards
  • Lead by example in safety communication and accountability
  • Track and review safety performance metrics
