The role of Supervisor II, Facilities & Maintenance at Baxter is pivotal in ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operation of plant manufacturing and facility equipment. This position is responsible for managing preventative maintenance systems, establishing schedules, and ensuring accurate documentation, while overseeing programs related to safety, quality, cost, and delivery outcomes within the department. The Supervisor II will lead a team supporting a two-shift manufacturing operation, emphasizing strong leadership, strategic planning, and collaborative efforts across departments such as Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering.

In this role, the Supervisor II takes ownership of maintenance budgeting, equipment expenditures, and contract management, ensuring equipment performance metrics such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and downtime are monitored and improved through root cause analysis and targeted corrective actions. They will support corrective and preventive action investigations and oversee maintenance activities for both new and existing equipment, ensuring compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 820, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and site quality standards.

Additionally, this position involves promoting a safe and compliant work environment by enforcing adherence to company safety policies and regulatory requirements. The Supervisor II will coordinate maintenance planning for shutdowns and closures, improving processes and simplifying procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

This position requires a minimum of a 2-year degree, with a strong preference for candidates holding a bachelor’s degree, along with at least two years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in leading teams, familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts, and a comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment are essential. Strong communication skills, documentation expertise, and knowledge of relevant regulatory agencies such as OSHA, EPA, and FDA underpin the qualifications for success.

Baxter offers competitive compensation with an estimated salary range of $80,000 to $110,000 annually, complemented by discretionary bonuses. Job Requirements

2-year degree required

Job Qualifications

Must have very strong verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

Supervise maintenance and facilities activities supporting a two-shift manufacturing operation
Plan, prioritize, and schedule corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities using the CMMS
ensure accurate documentation, PM execution, and spare parts management
Develop and maintain PM/PdM programs in compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 820, GMPs, and site quality requirements
Monitor equipment performance, OEE, downtime, and reliability data
perform root cause analysis and implement actions to improve equipment availability and reliability
Support CAPA and NCR investigations, utilizing structured root cause analysis tools
Oversee maintenance of new and existing manufacturing equipment to ensure validated/qualified state and timely return to service
Manage maintenance budgets, equipment expenditures, purchase orders, and expense forecasting
Oversee contracted facility services and outsourced maintenance activities
Lead maintenance staffing activities including scheduling, training, performance management, employee relations, and hiring decisions
Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to ensure smooth project transitions into daily operations
Promote a safe, compliant, and ethical work environment through adherence to safety policies, company standards, and regulatory requirements
Plan and execute maintenance activities for scheduled shutdowns and plant closures as required
Deliver excellent customer service through effective communication and cross-functional collaboration
