Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- relevant culinary education or certification
- several years of progressive culinary experience
- experience in high-volume corporate dining or similar environment
- previous work in unionized kitchen setting preferred
- ability to manage and lead culinary teams
- strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
- excellent communication and organizational skills
- proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office
- ServSafe Certification preferred
Job Qualifications
- A.O.S. degree in culinary arts or a recognized culinary certificate
- progressive culinary or kitchen management experience based on formal education or training
- corporate dining and catering experience strongly preferred
- experience working in high-volume, complex foodservice operations
- prior experience in a union environment desirable
- institutional and batch cooking experience a plus
- strong knowledge of current food and catering trends including quality and consistency, production efficiency, sanitation and food safety, food cost controls, and professional presentation
- proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and internet applications
- ServSafe Certification highly desirable
Job Duties
- Assist the executive chef with the overall management of culinary operations for a premier corporate account
- support cost controls and monitor food, labor, and supply expenditures
- collaborate on menu planning, development, and execution across multiple service platforms including café, catering, barista bars, and pantries
- supervise, train, and support union hourly culinary associates, ensuring adherence to labor agreements and company standards
- prepare, cook, and present a wide variety of food items with attention to proper preparation, garnishment, and presentation
- lead and execute catering events, meetings, and special programs
- assist with ordering, inventory, and product utilization
- support the rollout of new culinary programs in partnership with the company’s marketing and culinary teams
- ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- participate in client and customer satisfaction programs and initiatives
