The Senior Sous Chef contributes to the department's success by managing food costs and expenditures and supporting the Executive Chef in menu planning and ordering processes. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A.O.S. degree or culinary certificate preferred
- Progressive culinary experience in kitchen management
- Catering experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to participate in patient satisfaction programs
- ServSafe certification preferred
Job Qualifications
- A.O.S. degree in culinary arts or culinary certificate and required experience
- Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience depending upon formal degree or training
- Catering experience a plus
- High volume, complex foodservice operations experience highly desirable
- Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- Experienced with computers including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Outlook, E-mail, and the Internet
- Willingness to participate in patient satisfaction programs/activities
- ServSafe certified highly desirable
Job Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account
- Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus
- Produce and execute catering events
- Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team
- Supervise hourly associates
- Develop daily menu items and their preparation and garnishment
- Work with the Executive Chef/Chef to develop new menus and assist with ordering
