Job Description

GovCIO is a leading technology company specializing in delivering innovative IT solutions to government agencies. With a strong commitment to enhancing public sector efficiency and security, GovCIO partners with various federal departments to provide cutting-edge technology services that support mission-critical initiatives. Known for its focus on quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction, GovCIO has built a reputation as a trusted provider of IT solutions that meet stringent government standards. The company’s portfolio includes cloud computing, data modernization, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture services, enabling government agencies to leverage the latest technologies securely and effectively.

Currently, GovCIO is seeking a highly skilled Senior Solutions Architect to contribute to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Data Modernization initiative. This role is essential in architecting, designing, and implementing scalable, secure, and automated provisioning solutions that facilitate rapid onboarding of users into the Summit Launchpad environment. The Senior Solutions Architect will be responsible for leading the creation of standardized workspaces, configuring data access, and integrating cloud-based services that support the development of compliant and efficient data analytics platforms.

This position is fully remote, allowing flexibility for individuals located anywhere within the United States. The role offers a competitive salary range between USD $145,000 and USD $165,000 annually, reflecting the senior-level expertise and responsibilities required. A successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the data access framework for the VA, supporting analytical capabilities that ultimately enhance veteran services.

The role demands an expert ability to create and configure workspaces both in Pre-Production and Production environments, equipped with essential tools and security configurations. The architect will map new users to pre-created workspace configurations to streamline intake processes and improve operational efficiency. Responsibilities also include implementing automated provisioning mechanisms to grant access to core clinical data warehouses for authorized users while ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and governance standards.

Working in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Databricks engineers, platform teams, and security specialists, the Senior Solutions Architect will ensure that all workspace setups meet VA’s security, compliance, and data governance criteria. This collaboration aims to deliver reliable and secure data platforms that enable rapid yet controlled data analytics development. Troubleshooting architectural issues related to access and connectivity will be a regular aspect of this role.

The Senior Solutions Architect will also play a critical role in documenting architectural patterns and contributing to a seamless "single front door" user experience for the VA’s data modernization efforts. This involves identifying process bottlenecks and developing scalable architectural solutions that reduce friction and accelerate user onboarding. Additionally, the role requires supporting surge requests that enhance data access pathways or improve workspace architecture for data ingestion at scale.

Overall, this role is ideal for experienced IT professionals who have robust knowledge in cloud-based architectures, cybersecurity frameworks such as RMF and NIST, and proficiency in automation and scripting tools. The position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to a high-impact federal government project that modernizes data infrastructure to better serve the veteran community while working within an innovative and supportive environment.
