The Sr. Reconditioning Associate II role at CarMax is a vital position focused on ensuring every vehicle meets the company’s stringent paint and cosmetic standards before delivery to customers. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of CarMax New Associate Orientation Training
  • Ability to meet performance standards and workstation certifications
  • Experience with paint application and minor vehicle repairs preferred
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying environments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to use respiratory protection and be clean-shaven to wear half-face respirator

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of CarMax New Associate Orientation Training - Operations
  • Ability to meet performance standards and workstation certifications for all related roles
  • Skilled in reading interpreting and recording data accurately and performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced high-energy environment
  • Proficient in color discernment and paint application techniques
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work indoors outdoors in varying conditions
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
  • Required to use CarMax-provided respiratory protection and must be clean-shaven to use half-face respirator

Job Duties

  • Perform complete paint applications including color matching and mixing for a quality finish
  • Execute minor repairs such as sanding and grinding to restore vehicle surfaces
  • Maintain paint preparation standards to ensure vehicles meet CarMax quality guidelines
  • Collaborate in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives with your team
  • Follow standardized work processes and maintain compliance with CarMax Paint Standards
  • Keep all equipment and tools in optimal condition ensuring safety and efficiency
  • Follow CarMax Environmental Health and Safety requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area
