This role is for a Sr Principal Systems Engineer – GAITS Analysis PO (26-350) within Northrop Grumman Space Systems' Missile Defense Integration team located in Colorado Springs, CO. The role involves on-site work with no relocation or remote options and includes up to 10% business travel.
As a Sr Principal Systems Engineer in this position, the candidate will engage deeply with the C2BMC program, which is a cornerstone of the missile defense system that integrates layered missile defense capabilities. The engineer will work closely with technical leads, cross-functional product teams, and government entities, managing test lab schedules, coordinating integration activities, and ensuring compliance with task order baselines. Responsibilities also include leading issue resolution related to technical analysis, supporting resource planning, and contributing to various boards and customer reviews.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields with significant experience or advanced degrees with proportionate experience, alongside strong technical expertise in networked computer systems, hardware/software analysis, and Command and Control system integration. Proficiency in Windows, MS Office, or Linux environments, and knowledge of DoD/MDA testbed concepts and cybersecurity applications are essential. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, professional certifications such as INCOSE CSEP, and experience with Agile test-driven development, requirements management tools like DOORS, and test automation frameworks. This role requires a professional committed to excellence in systems engineering within a highly secure and mission-critical environment.
Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $129,300 to $193,900, reflecting the complexity and responsibility of the position, alongside eligibility for bonuses, overtime, shift differential, and long-term incentives depending on role and performance. The company provides a flexible benefits package that caters to individual and family needs, including health insurance, savings plans, paid time off, education assistance, training, and development opportunities. Northrop Grumman is committed to diversity, equal opportunity employment, and a supportive workplace culture that values each employee's contributions and growth potential.
