Northrop Grumman is a leading global aerospace and defense technology company known for its pioneering advancements that shape national security and space exploration. With a rich history of innovation—ranging from the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean to the development of stealth bombers and lunar missions—Northrop Grumman continues to be at the forefront of cutting-edge technologies that safeguard and enhance lives worldwide. The company fosters a culture that values intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity, and inclusive engagement, encouraging employees to bring their full selves to work while driving transformative solutions. Northrop Grumman offers an inspiring and collaborative work environment where bold ideas and innovative thinking are celebrated, driving progress in the defense sector and beyond.

The Chief Information and Digital Office (CIDO) of Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Principal Windows Systems Administrator to join its team. This role is critical to supporting the Defense Systems sector’s IT infrastructure, requiring expertise in Windows Server environments within classified government contract operations. This is a full-time, on-site position based at the Northridge, California campus, emphasizing direct involvement in maintaining and enhancing secure multi-user computer systems. The Senior Principal Windows Systems Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting sophisticated Windows domain architectures, including Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, and security permissions. The position requires coordination with multiple stakeholders—including network engineers, project managers, end users, and IT executives—to ensure smooth operation and continuous optimization of IT systems.

Key responsibilities encompass administration and troubleshooting of classified network systems with adherence to strict information systems security guidelines, supporting multiple networks, managing backup and recovery protocols, and evaluating new software and hardware products for compatibility and performance improvements. The administrator will create and maintain user and computer access controls, participate in security audits, and document technical procedures. They must also interact effectively with vendors and internal teams, troubleshoot complex technical issues across software, firmware, and hardware domains, and respond to after-hours support requests as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in IT systems administration evidenced by substantial experience managing Windows Server operating systems in secure environments, holding required government certifications, and maintaining an active DoD Secret clearance. Advanced knowledge of networking fundamentals, virtualization technologies, and system imaging will be highly valued. Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $129,300 to $193,900 annually, complemented by opportunities for overtime, bonuses, and long-term incentives depending on position and performance. The company also provides flexible work arrangements, comprehensive benefits including health and dental insurance, paid time off, and a 401k matching program. Joining Northrop Grumman means contributing to innovative projects with real-world impact while advancing your career in a supportive, technology-driven culture committed to excellence and diversity.
