The Legends Global-operated KFC Yum! Center located in Louisville, Kentucky, serves as a multi-use entertainment venue that hosts a diverse range of world-class events, including concerts, family shows, collegiate sports, and other special occasions. The venue dedicates itself to providing a clean and safe environment that guarantees the ideal entertainment experience, highest guest satisfaction, and flawless event execution. The Senior Manager of Events & Guest Services plays a pivotal role at the KFC Yum! Center by overseeing the Event Services department and managing all aspects of event production, coordination, and guest services operations. This senior leadership position requires strong management skills in supervising full-time staff and the event manager, coordinating complex event schedules, and ensuring smooth communication between various stakeholders, including the Louisville Cardinals, NCAA, and venue partners. The role involves directing event operations such as audio/visual production, security, crowd management, fire safety, ADA compliance, staffing schedules, and union contractual obligations. It demands hands-on leadership to troubleshoot operational challenges, implement effective training programs, uphold corporate standards, and maintain safety protocols as a member of the Safety Committee. The Senior Manager is responsible for cultivating effective relationships with tenants, promoters, vendors, and clients to ensure all events meet and exceed expectations. This salaried exempt position offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience and a generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and substantial experience in public assembly event management. The role requires flexibility to work shifts, extended hours, weekends, and holidays while maintaining high standards of customer service and safety in a dynamic, fast-paced live event environment.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Five to seven years relevant experience in public assembly event management or related field
  • Ability to work long hours, multiple shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and with all levels of staff and management
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, move quickly, lift up to 50 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in noisy, operational environments.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
  • Five to seven years experience in the public assembly industry in supervisory or management roles
  • Strong knowledge of operational procedures, facility capabilities, event-related services, and industry terminology
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven leadership and staff management abilities
  • Experience with AutoCad preferred
  • Ability to make independent, decisive decisions guided by policies
  • Proficient with standard office and communication equipment
  • Ability to organize workload and work effectively under pressure
  • Strong client and stakeholder relationship skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing situations.

Job Duties

  • Direct, supervise and schedule all aspects of event operations including event coordination, event staffing, AV production, security, crowd and risk management, and ADA compliance
  • Manage and supervise the Manager, Events & Guest Services
  • Assign events to the Event Manager
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage all self-assigned events
  • Serve as primary liaison with Louisville Cardinals, NCAA, and KFC Yum! Center on game day event operations and communications
  • Prepare event summaries and reports for the Event Services Department
  • Establish and maintain relationships with peers, tenants, vendors, promoters
  • Troubleshoot operational issues during events including guest services
  • Ensure compliance with union contracts and company policies
  • Anticipate and resolve production, logistical, and operational problems
  • Develop and implement guest services training programs
  • Serve on the Safety Committee and ensure adherence to safety regulations and emergency procedures
  • Assist with event management at other Legends Global venues as needed
  • Rotate as Manager on Duty overseeing clients, staff, security, and safety during events
  • Conduct staff meetings to discuss procedures, policy changes, and resolve issues.
