Job Description

LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee responsible for delivering the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This prestigious organization operates with a clear mission: to produce an Olympic and Paralympic experience that celebrates the unique spirit and diversity of Los Angeles, while showcasing the city and country on a global stage. The 2028 Summer Games will mark the first return of the Olympics to the United States in over three decades and the third time Los Angeles has had the honor of hosting such an event. For the first time, the Paralympic Games will also be held in Los Angeles, reflecting the region's commitment to inclusion and accessibility in sports and culture.

LA28 exemplifies values such as optimism, integrity, excellence, inclusion, co-creation, and boldness. These guide every aspect of its planning and execution. The organizing committee is deeply committed to assembling a team that not only reflects these values but also thrives on diverse perspectives, experiences, and expertise across multiple disciplines. The impact of the 2028 Games will resonate far beyond the event itself, serving as a beacon of community engagement, innovation, and legacy building for athletes, fans, partners, and residents alike.

The Sr. Manager, Ceremonies Operations, holds a pivotal role within the LA28 team, playing a critical part in orchestrating the successful planning and delivery of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for both the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This role is central to the day-to-day execution of the ceremonies’ plans, ensuring all workstreams remain aligned with the overarching delivery strategy. The Senior Manager acts as a vital conduit linking the Creative, Production, and Integration teams, translating the strategic vision into detailed, actionable plans. They are responsible for managing an integrated master schedule, identifying risks and operational gaps, and implementing efficient workflows to maintain momentum across a multi-stakeholder landscape.

The ideal candidate will bring at least seven years of experience in large-scale event operations or program management, with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and handle multi-faceted project delivery. This individual must possess exceptional organizational and communication skills, a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving, and the ability to maintain composure under pressure. They will also offer proven expertise in collaborating across diverse operational functions such as finance, legal, procurement, communications, and venue operations.

Working onsite in Los Angeles, this professional will be instrumental in driving readiness for all key ceremony milestones, managing rehearsals, contingency planning, and risk mitigation. The role demands adaptability, strategic insight, and hands-on leadership to ensure that the Games’ ceremonies meet the highest standards of excellence and operational readiness. Salary range for this role is $105,000 to $140,000 annually, with no relocation assistance provided. LA28 champions equal employment opportunities and values an inclusive workforce free from discrimination.
