Job Description

USAA is a well-established financial services group committed to empowering members of the military community and their families by providing them with highly competitive financial products, exceptional customer service, and trusted financial advice. Founded to serve those who serve, USAA has built a reputation for integrity, honesty, loyalty, and service, values that consistently guide how it interacts with both its members and employees. Recognized as a leader in the insurance and financial services industry, USAA aims to be the number one choice for active duty military, veterans, and their families across the United States. The organization emphasizes not only business success but also a fulfilling and supportive work environment, especially for military spouses, offering flexible work options such as remote or hybrid roles where possible.

The role of Senior Injury Adjuster at USAA is a critical position focused on managing moderately complex bodily injury claims involving legal representation. This role requires a professional who can work effectively within defined guidelines to adjust claims by confirming coverage, determining liability, conducting investigations, evaluating claims, negotiating settlements, and defending the company’s interests. The Senior Injury Adjuster is accountable for providing concierge-level customer service characterized by proactive communication, compassionate counsel, and setting clear expectations for members throughout the claims process. This position is hybrid, requiring presence in the office three days a week and is available in multiple locations including San Antonio, Texas; Chesapeake, Virginia; Tampa, Florida; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Phoenix, Arizona. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Applicants for this role bring skills and knowledge in handling bodily injury claims, including injuries such as torn meniscus, broken bones, and disc herniations, along with related auto physical damage. The ideal candidate must possess demonstrated proficiency in legal liability assessment, negotiation, investigation, and communication. Additionally, this role demands an ability to manage workload efficiently by prioritizing claims, maintaining timely updates for both members and internal parties, and collaborating with vendors and internal business partners to expedite resolutions. Adaptability is crucial, as the Senior Injury Adjuster may also be called upon to support surge workloads or catastrophe operations. This role also offers informal mentoring opportunities by supporting less experienced team members. The compensation range for this role is competitive, varying between $63,590 and $121,530 depending on experience and location. USAA provides a robust performance-based pay incentive program as part of its compensation structure.

USAA's commitment to employee wellness is reflected in its comprehensive benefits package, which supports physical, emotional, and financial well-being. Employees benefit from medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans including a 401(k) and pension, life insurance, parental leave benefits, adoption assistance, as well as paid time off and volunteer hours, among other wellness initiatives. Professional development and career growth are encouraged through structured career planning and continuing education opportunities. This combination makes USAA a rewarding employer for dedicated professionals seeking to serve those who serve their country while advancing their careers within a supportive and values-driven culture.
