Job Description

The hiring establishment is a notable food service operation located in Norman, specializing in delivering exceptional dining experiences within the campus community. Known for its dedication to quality and customer satisfaction, Cross Village Restaurants operates as a dynamic restaurant venue with a strong emphasis on service and food preparation excellence. This company is committed to maintaining high standards in food quality, safety, and customer service, making it a respected presence in the regional food service scene.

The opportunity available is for a First Line Assistant Supervisor within the food services category, primarily focused on service and maintenance duties related to food preparation and production. This role is essential in ensuring smooth restaurant operations during the closing shift, which runs roughly from 4:30 pm to 1:00 am. The position is classified as service/maintenance work and requires a targeted salary of $15.00 hourly, with an additional $2.00 hourly shift differential available, rewarding employees who work this specific shift. The role strongly supports the operational needs of the restaurant, particularly during campus closures, indicating its critical nature to ongoing food service delivery.

In this role, the First Line Assistant Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, production, and serving of food items, ensuring that all food operations meet the established standards. Working closely with the restaurant team, the assistant supervisor helps to coordinate tasks, maintain food safety compliance, and provide excellent customer service. This position demands a practical understanding of food service protocols, leadership abilities to manage and support team members, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both staff and patrons.

The assistant supervisor will also play a vital leadership role in managing closing shift activities, which require attention to detail in cleanup procedures, inventory management, and compliance with health and safety regulations. The role is an excellent opportunity for individuals with prior restaurant experience who are looking to advance their career in food services supervision. This position also encourages continuous professional development, as candidates may benefit from certifications like ServSafe and obtaining a Food Handlers License.

The work schedule consists of five days per week during evening hours, providing an opportunity for those who thrive in late-shift work environments and enjoy the dynamic pace of restaurant operations during closing hours. The position may occasionally require travel, suggesting potential involvement in events or operational support beyond the primary location. This role offers a comprehensive package including eligibility for benefits, which supports employee wellbeing and professional growth.

Overall, this position represents a significant role within Cross Village Restaurants, blending hands-on food service duties with supervisory responsibilities that are vital for the success and reputation of the establishment. It is ideal for motivated individuals with a background in culinary or customer service settings, looking to leverage their skills in a leadership capacity while contributing to a vibrant and community-focused food service operation.
