Job Description

Novolex is a leading manufacturer specializing in food, beverage, and specialty packaging that caters to various industries, including foodservice, restaurant delivery and carryout, food processing, grocery and retail, and industrial sectors. With extensive manufacturing and sourcing expertise, Novolex offers a diverse range of packaging substrates such as resin, paper, molded fiber, aluminum, and more. Boasting a comprehensive portfolio comprising 120 product categories, 250 brands, and over 39,000 SKUs, Novolex stands out as a versatile and innovative company committed to serving its customers with stock and customized packaging solutions.

Novolex also has a strong dedication to sustainability, operating under a vision grounded in three key pillars: its products, operations, and people. This commitment supports the growth and future of the company through various sustainability initiatives designed to reduce environmental impact and promote responsible business practices.

The position of Senior Manager, Operating Unit Engineer at Novolex centers on leading engineering activities and providing technical leadership across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role is essential for supporting blown film extrusion, inline converting, printing operations, roll stock production, and downstream converting processes. The successful candidate ensures safety, quality, operational reliability, throughput, yield, scrap reduction, and overall manufacturing performance improvements. The role serves as the primary technical authority for multiple complex manufacturing processes, including blown film extrusion, tube-on-roll products, single wound sheeting, inline bag converting, flexographic printing, shuttle bag machines, rotary bag machines, wicket converting systems, and roll-to-roll printing operations.

Reporting to manufacturing operations, this role involves driving compliance with company safety and engineering standards and leading the execution of capital projects. The Senior Manager mentors and coaches plant engineering teams, supports start-up stabilization and manufacturing readiness, and partners closely with plant operations to improve process performance and operational efficiencies across 5 to 8 plants. With a focus on engineering standardization and best practice adoption, this position plays a critical role in enhancing the company’s overall operational capabilities.

The role requires up to 75% travel to manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and equipment vendors, reflecting the need to have a hands-on presence and ensure technical excellence across sites. Novolex offers an attractive salary range of $155,000 to $170,000 plus bonus and benefits, alongside an enriching work environment that values employee well-being, community engagement, and continuous development. Benefits include a 401(k) plan with company match, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending and health savings accounts, paid vacation, sick days, paid parental leave, paid holidays, and wellness programs.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering leader looking to advance their career in a dynamic and sustainability-driven manufacturing environment. Novolex emphasizes equal employment opportunity and supports accommodations for applicants with disabilities, ensuring an inclusive workplace for all. Formerly known as Pactiv Evergreen, Novolex builds on a rich legacy to drive innovation and excellence in packaging manufacturing.
