The Sr. Engineer, Project Tooling role at Getinge is a pivotal position focused on managing injection mold tool build programs and overseeing projects from initial concept through to production. This role works collaboratively across cross-functional teams to ensure the successful development, validation, and management of tooling and molding processes. Responsibilities include managing Getinge-owned injection mold tools and molding suppliers, troubleshooting molding and tooling issues, and delivering timely resolutions. The Sr. Engineer is also responsible for evaluating mold designs to ensure cost-effectiveness, durability, and specification compliance while maintaining tooling databases and capital budgets.
This role is critical in leading tooling transfers, new tool builds, and validations while analyzing technical data pertinent to mold making and manufacturing capabilities. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of ten years direct or commensurate experience in the field
- Practical knowledge of mold making and injection molding process
- Understanding of scientific injection molding concepts
- Knowledge of mold building including machining tolerances, steels, heat treating, plating, and stack up tolerances
- General knowledge of FDA and ISO guidelines
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good project management skills
- Experience with process and/or product validation desired
- Strong computer skills including MS Office applications
- Basic knowledge of CAD software

Job Duties
- Track and oversee repair, refurbishment, and replacement of injection mold tooling
- Evaluate mold designs to ensure cost-effective solutions
- Analyze technical data, designs, specifications, manufacturing limitations, and supplier capabilities
- Lead tooling transfers and new tool builds/validations
- Manage and maintain tooling database
- Analyze and make recommendations based on mold software analysis
- Provide engineering support for new designs, improvements, and raw material selection
- Assist in tooling capital budget development and tracking
- Provide technical and project leadership for complex mold design and build programs
- Prepare project plans detailing costs and timelines
- Manage unexpected delays and direct team efforts to maintain project timelines
- Mitigate risks to supply chain by monitoring supplier developments and technology changes
- Prepare reports and document progress for senior management
- Assist in special projects and contribute to team efforts as requested
