This particular role is for a Lifecycle Logistics/Supportability Engineer within Collins Aerospace Integrated Product Support located onsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The position requires a proactive, seasoned engineer to perform product support engineering analyses and planning tasks specifically for integrated communication and avionics systems and solutions. As a senior core member of a program Integrated Product Team (IPT), the candidate will be integral in executing the twelve Integrated Product Support Elements, which are crucial to sustaining and supporting advanced aerospace products throughout their lifecycle. The engineer will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including Program Management, Project Engineering, software, hardware, electrical, systems engineering, and support personnel to ensure support requirements are consistently met at each phase of the product lifecycle.
The role demands a high degree of autonomy as the engineer will work independently with minimal oversight while also mentoring and developing junior team members in activities related to integrated product support. The engineer will manage and understand Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) management planning, assess DMSMS risks and drivers, and evaluate their operational impact across various functions. Key responsibilities include reviewing electronic data sheets for suitable substitute parts, constructing lifetime buy models, and spares analysis backed by field data and reliability predictions. The engineer will conduct trade studies to compare cost-benefit outcomes of different support alternatives, interpret engineering drawings to verify that supportability requirements are met, and lead maintenance planning and task analysis. This entails assessing life cycle costs, performing level of repair analysis (LORA), and developing business case analyses to support proposals and program execution.
Candidates must hold at least a degree in a STEM field and have a minimum of five years of relevant experience, alongside an active DoD Secret security clearance with eligibility for a U.S. government-issued security clearance. Familiarity with data analysis tools such as SQL, Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic, and Python is preferred, along with experience in engineering software tools including Windchill, SlicWave, PowerLog J2, EAGLE, COMPASS, CASA, OPUS, CATLOC, VMETRIC, and CAMEO. The ability to model support functions using Excel and programming tools is highly beneficial. Job Requirements

- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government issued security clearance
