Job Description
Subway Headquarters is the global hub for one of the most recognized fast-food brands in the world. As a dedicated team of professionals, we support thousands of franchisees worldwide, enabling the brand to maintain its reputation for fresh, customizable sandwiches and exceptional customer experiences across diverse markets. Subway is committed to innovation, operational excellence, and fostering franchisee success to drive long-term growth and profitability. With a dynamic and fast-paced environment, Subway Headquarters is where strategic decisions are made that impact thousands of restaurants worldwide, enhancing the brand's global footprint and sustainability.
The role of Senior Director, Product - Menu at Subway is a pivotal leadership position designed for a strategic product executive capable of owning the end-to-end menu management strategy and execution on a global scale. This position sits at the intersection of product development, engineering, marketing, and operations, reflecting the complexity and importance of Subway's menu as a living, evolving product. The person in this role will lead initiatives around menu availability, pricing systems, AI-driven automation of menu workflows, and the tools that empower franchisees and corporate operators alike.
This role requires managing cross-functional collaboration with Digital, Third Party Delivery (3PD), Marketing, Product Information Management (PIM), and Engineering/Design teams. The Senior Director will also have direct responsibility for people leadership, including building, mentoring, and scaling a team that consists of both in-house product professionals and contractors. The successful candidate will bring a product mindset focused on systems thinking, user outcomes, and delivering exceptional value rather than merely managing features or tickets.
Subway is seeking an executive who thrives in a startup or high-tech environment, able to make thoughtful decisions quickly even with incomplete information. Being AI-native and comfortable integrating AI tools and automation into daily workflows is highly desirable. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential to influence and align cross-functional teams without direct authority. While experience in the quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry is a plus, it is not mandatory; a sharp product mind and relevant leadership experience will be valued.
The role involves travel up to 15%, reflecting the global nature of the business and the need to engage with franchisees, partners, and teams across various regions. Subway offers a competitive compensation package that includes medical and life insurance, pension or retirement savings plans, a competitive bonus structure, mobility allowances, tuition reimbursement, company holidays, and volunteer time, among other benefits. This opportunity provides a unique platform for senior leaders looking to build and lead transformative product strategies in a globally recognized brand poised for continued growth and innovation.
