Job Description

Subway Headquarters stands as a global leader in the quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry, dedicated to supporting thousands of franchisees worldwide. With a rich heritage of serving fresh, affordable, and customizable sandwiches, Subway has become one of the most recognized and beloved brands on the planet. This established organization is committed to continuous growth, innovation, and delivering exceptional value to its franchise partners and customers alike.

The company is focused on expanding franchisee profitability, strengthening its brand presence globally, and creating long-term value for all stakeholders involved. The work culture at Subway is dynamic and fast-paced, welcoming individuals who are energetic, accountable, and eager to make impactful decisions. Employees at Subway are empowered to shape their roles and contribute to meaningful business outcomes, working collaboratively within supportive teams that celebrate each success.

The Senior Director, Product - Menu role is a strategic leadership position essential to the evolution of Subway's menu management capabilities. At a global scale, the Subway menu functions as a complex, living product that must adapt swiftly across diverse markets, franchisees, and digital platforms. This role demands ownership of the entire menu management lifecycle, from product vision and strategy to hands-on execution. It involves managing Menu Data Services, leveraging AI-driven technologies to automate menu workflows, and creating tools that enable franchise operators to price, promote, and update their offerings efficiently and effectively.

This position operates at the crossroads of product management, engineering, marketing, and operations, requiring a leader who can coordinate cross-functional teams and drive innovation. The Senior Director will not only set the roadmap for menu management systems but also build and mentor a high-performing product team and contractor operations to achieve strategic goals. This role has a high visibility and impact within Subway, directly influencing thousands of franchise locations worldwide.

Candidates with a product mindset who think in terms of systems and user outcomes rather than merely features will thrive in this environment. Proven experience in managing product teams combined with the ability to lead strategic initiatives while maintaining hands-on project involvement is crucial. Ideal applicants often come from startup or high-tech backgrounds where fast decision-making with incomplete data is the norm. A familiarity and comfort with AI tools and automation technologies are highly valued, reflecting Subway's forward-thinking approach to product innovation.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments without formal authority are essential. While prior QSR or restaurant technology experience is a plus, the role primarily values sharp product leadership skills that can translate across industries. This position also involves managing multiple direct reports and occasionally requires travel up to 15 percent as business needs dictate.

Subway offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical and life insurance plans, pension or 401K options depending on the country, competitive bonuses, mobility allowances, tuition reimbursement, paid company holidays, volunteering time, and many more perks designed to support employee well-being and professional growth. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a globally influential brand and lead the future of menu product management within the QSR sector.
