A leading telecommunications infrastructure organization based in San Antonio, Texas, is actively seeking a Senior Director of Telecom Operations. This company is recognized in the telecommunications industry for its commitment to delivering large-scale fiber deployment projects with precision and excellence. Specializing in a wide range of telecom construction services, including aerial, underground, directional drilling, fiber splicing, and Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) solutions, the organization serves an extensive Texas market and beyond, contributing significantly to the advancement of high-speed connectivity and network capabilities across the region.

This is an exceptional full-time, direct hire leadership role located in San Antonio, TX, offering a competitive base salary complemented by performance-based incentives. The Senior Director of Telecom Operations will report directly to senior executive leadership and will have a key role in shaping the operational success and strategic direction of the company's telecom construction division. With the telecommunications landscape rapidly evolving, this position offers the opportunity to lead and influence the deployment of cutting-edge fiber optic infrastructure that supports the growth of digital economies and enhances community access to advanced network services.

The Senior Director of Telecom Operations holds ultimate responsibility for overseeing construction and field operations across a major Texas market, ensuring projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget while meeting stringent quality standards. This role demands a strategic thinker and effective leader who can manage multiple operational teams and complex projects simultaneously. Those teams include Construction Managers, Project Managers, Supervisors, and skilled field personnel involved in various operational facets such as aerial cable installations, underground systems, directional drilling, splicing tasks, and FTTH rollouts.

This leader will drive operational excellence by implementing best practices, optimizing workforce planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. They will also be entrusted with managing market-level budgets, overseeing project profitability, labor costs, and production metrics. The Senior Director will leverage data-driven insights from forecasting and performance reporting to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and margin improvement.

Another critical aspect of the role involves fostering an organizational culture grounded in accountability, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will mentor and develop high-performing teams, promote safety-first mindsets across all operations, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential as this role requires maintaining robust relationships with customers, municipalities, utility partners, and subcontractors to support business growth and uphold superior customer service standards.

This position includes approximately 25 to 40 percent travel within the assigned market and surrounding areas, ensuring hands-on oversight and agile response to operational needs. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in telecom construction leadership, especially with fiber optic deployment, and demonstrate the capability to navigate complex project demands while inspiring teams to achieve common goals. Additionally, proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel are essential requirements.

This is a high-impact career opportunity for a driven telecom operations expert eager to contribute to a growing organization with strong career advancement prospects. The company offers an attractive benefits package, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company participation, paid time off, and recognized holidays. Joining this organization means becoming part of a dedicated team committed to building the future of telecommunications infrastructure across an important region in Texas.
