Job Description

Virtuoso is the leading global travel agency network specializing in luxury and experiential travel. This exclusive, by-invitation-only organization connects more than 1,200 travel agency locations and over 20,000 travel advisors across 58 countries spanning North America, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East. Virtuoso's reach and influence are supported by preferred relationships with approximately 2,500 of the world's most prestigious hotels and resorts, cruise lines, airlines, tour companies, and premier destinations. This vast network allows Virtuoso to offer its upscale clientele exclusive amenities, rare experiences, and privileged access that are unmatched in the luxury travel industry. With annual sales reaching 35 billion U.S. dollars, Virtuoso stands as a powerhouse in luxury travel.

The Sr. Director, Hotels & Resorts plays a pivotal strategic leadership role within Virtuoso. This position is responsible for defining and continuously evolving the long-term vision, strategy, and development of Virtuoso’s global hotel portfolio. The primary focus is to cultivate a high-quality, differentiated network of hotel and resort partners that deliver meaningful value to travel advisors and their clients worldwide. Collaborating across functions such as Membership, Product, Marketing, and Account Management, this position ensures alignment of hotel-related initiatives that drive cohesive and impactful outcomes across the Virtuoso network.

Operating as the global subject matter expert for Hotels & Resorts, the Sr. Director is more of a strategic advisor and internal architect rather than a traditional partner owner. This role informs account strategies and shapes product and program design while managing global portfolio quality, governance, and standards with regional flexibility. The incumbent is tasked with proactively identifying growth opportunities, portfolio gaps, and strategic risks to maintain Virtuoso’s competitive advantage and network relevance in an evolving market.

The Sr. Director steers the development of a clearly articulated partner value proposition that ensures measurable return on investment and long-term partnership sustainability. They oversee partner strategies including procurement, evaluation, and selection of hotel partners to optimize the composition and value of the network. The role heavily leverages data insights and market trend analysis to inform decisions, establish success metrics, and guide strategic KPIs focused on long-term impact.

Cross-functional collaboration is crucial to the role, requiring the Sr. Director to connect efforts among Partnerships, Regions, Product, Marketing, Finance, and Operations while aligning global strategy with local market realities. Additionally, this leader will work closely with various committees and advisory groups, serve as an expert resource internally, and engage with senior external stakeholders to represent Virtuoso’s strategic direction.

Innovation is a continuous priority, as the Sr. Director monitors industry trends and competitive dynamics to identify new partnership models and drive strategic evolution. The position also involves leadership and mentorship responsibilities, guiding senior leaders who execute partner strategies, and influencing outcomes through clear communication and collaboration.

This role requires extensive travel, both domestic and international, to support partner engagement and industry representation. Virtuoso offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401(k) savings plan, and more. The company is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse workforce. Salary ranges depend on factors such as geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of each candidate.
