The Senior Inflight Manager role is a critical leadership position within American Airlines' Inflight team, which operates under the Customer Experience group. This role focuses on ensuring a safe, high-performing, and customer-focused inflight operation. The Senior Inflight Manager is responsible for leading and engaging frontline inflight team members, specifically flight attendants, to facilitate safe and reliable flight operations combined with an outstanding passenger experience.
This position demands an energetic individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and who is passionate about upholding safety standards, fostering teamwork, and achieving operational goals. The Senior Inflight Manager supports flight attendants by providing the necessary tools and resources both during the flight and at the gate to ensure on-time departures and smooth operations. They manage, engage, and recognize flight attendants while communicating key company and departmental initiatives, metrics, and goals.
With a salary range between $71,000 and $95,000, this job offers individuals a chance to work onsite at an assigned base, where they act as local subject matter experts in policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to inflight operations. The role includes oversight responsibilities such as resource allocation, escalation management, interdepartmental communication, participation in planning and problem-solving activities, onboarding and mentoring new team members, and stepping in for base leaders as necessary.
In addition to operational leadership, the Senior Inflight Manager manages projects such as new hire programs and coordinates terminal assignments to dynamically support key flights at gates. This role requires excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, alongside the ability to make informed decisions based on data and to lead effectively in an evolving digital environment. Commitment to fostering an inclusive working atmosphere is essential, as is the capacity to address complex staffing issues and maintain a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Additional perks include travel privileges, a 401(k) plan with employer contributions, employee assistance programs, pet insurance, and various discounts on travel and lifestyle services. The airline's inclusive culture is supported by over 20 Employee Business Resource Groups, which help connect team members with communities, customers, and suppliers.
Overall, this is an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals passionate about customer service and inflight operations to join a leading global airline, contribute to safe and efficient flight experiences, and enjoy a rewarding career path rich in growth, travel, and community support.
