This full-time Staff position is based at the UHealth Tower and operates within a flexible shift schedule, with hours varying between 3:00 AM and 8:00 PM, including weekends. The role mainly focuses on food preparation and kitchen operations within the health system, playing a crucial part in ensuring meal quality and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will engage in activities such as washing, chopping, and storing ingredients, measuring and mixing menu items while adhering to the facility's standards, and operating various cooking appliances including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. A key responsibility is testing foods to ensure they are cooked properly and serving the food in precise portions onto designated receptacles. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen is also a vital part of the job, including cleaning cooking areas and equipment, washing and sorting flatware, serving dishes, china, and glasses, and monitoring appliance temperatures.

In addition to these operational duties, the candidate is expected to comply with the policies and procedures set forth by the University and maintain the safety of University assets. This role demands a proactive approach to ensure all kitchen operations meet the required hygienic and quality standards, supporting the overall mission of UHealth to provide exemplary healthcare services through excellent nutrition and food service management.
