Viasat is currently seeking a Senior Business Developer to join its high-performing team. This position is integral to advancing the company's Private 5G and Neutral Host solutions targeting public sector, private sector, defense, and public safety markets. As a Senior Business Developer, you will play a pivotal role in market development, customer acquisition, and accelerating revenue growth. The role involves collaborating cross-functionally with product development, engineering, and operations to ensure offerings align with evolving customer needs. You will lead strategic initiatives such as building go-to-market strategies, managing pricing and commercial models, responding to RFP/ITT opportunities, and nurturing ecosystem partnerships that include integrators, vendors, venue operators, mobile network operators, and spectrum providers.

This role demands a visionary mindset combined with practical execution skills to identify new growth prospects and convert them into scalable, delivery-ready solutions. The successful candidate will own the pipeline development and revenue forecasting related to Private 5G and Neutral Host initiatives and act as the primary commercial lead engaging customers throughout the sales cycle — from initial pursuit through contract award and post-award transition. The position offers a chance to influence cutting-edge telecommunications technology deployments with significant societal impact, including enhancing public safety communications and defense capabilities. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, telecommunications, engineering or related field
  • Proven experience in business development and market growth in telecommunications or technology sectors
  • Strong understanding of Private 5G and Neutral Host technologies and their market applications
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex sales cycles and RFP/ITT processes
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to develop commercial models and pricing strategies
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations teams
  • Strategic thinking with a customer-focused mindset

Job Duties

  • Identify and pursue new growth opportunities across public sector, private sector, defense, and public safety markets
  • Build go-to-market strategies, pricing, and partner/channel motions for Private 5G and Neutral Host offerings
  • Engage customers to shape requirements and drive multisite adoption
  • Coordinate with engineering, product, and operations to align offerings with customer needs
  • Lead RFP/ITT responses, customer briefings, and long-term strategic account planning
  • Develop ecosystem partnerships including integrators, vendors, venue operators, MNOs, and spectrum providers
  • Identify, qualify, and manage Private 5G and Neutral Host opportunities, owning pipeline development and forecasting
  • Serve as the primary commercial lead, engaging customers from initial pursuit through post-award transition
  • Develop and implement competitive go-to-market strategies, pricing, and commercial models aligned with procurement and regulatory requirements
  • Lead or support RFP/ITT responses and win strategies coordinating internal teams and partners
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships and long-term account strategies to drive joint pursuits and expansion opportunities
