Established with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive service delivery, NNCC plays an essential role in fostering community connections and supporting underserved populations in the Springfield area. NNCC's mission emphasizes collaboration with families, service providers, and community stakeholders to create impactful and sustainable change, making it a pivotal organization in the support of family and child well-being within the region.
The Springfield Family Supports Program Coordinator is a full-time, exempt position reporting directly to the Chief of Family and Child Services at NNCC. This role offers a competitive salary range from $60,000 to $66,000 and involves comprehensive coordination and advancement of the Springfield Family Supports Coalition’s mission. The Coordinator is instrumental in bringing together parents, caregivers, community stakeholders, and service providers to improve access to resources, strengthen family support systems, and address service gaps within the community.
In this capacity, the Coordinator facilitates strategic planning, community engagement, leadership development, advocacy, and systems-level collaboration aimed primarily at supporting families involved with or impacted by the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Acting as the liaison among families, providers, community organizations, and public stakeholders, the Coordinator ensures that family voices are central to decision-making and program development. The position necessitates strong project management, community organizing, and communication skills to foster meaningful partnerships, spearhead program initiatives, and manage resources effectively.
Key responsibilities include developing the Coalition’s governance structure, coordinating annual action plans and budgets, and organizing Coalition meetings and events that promote community awareness and family engagement. The role demands advisory and advocacy capabilities to elevate family-centered policies and collaborate on advocacy campaigns, community forums, and public awareness activities. The Coordinator also oversees data collection, evaluation, and the creation of data-driven solutions to optimize service delivery.
Additionally, the Coordinator supports resource development through identifying grants, assisting with proposals, and fostering relationships with funders and community partners. This role requires a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and family-centered practices, along with the ability to travel locally and attend events outside standard business hours. As part of NNCC’s team, the Coordinator will contribute to sustaining and growing impactful family support initiatives within a culturally diverse community, enhancing the overall resilience and well-being of Springfield families.
