Job Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 12 months relevant experience in spray technician work
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
- Ability to push a spreader loaded with 50 lbs of material
- Capability to perform physical tasks such as bending, crouching, walking, standing, balancing on uneven surfaces
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Pesticide license (a plus but not required)
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 12 months of relevant experience in spray technician work
- Knowledge of pesticide, fertilizer, and herbicide calibration
- Proficiency in arithmetic for calculations related to chemical applications and estimates
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer and office equipment skills
- Expertise in identifying pests, diseases, plants, and insects
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in diagnosing turf problems and determining correct pest control products and amounts
Job Duties
- Schedule and perform weed control and fertilization procedures
- Operate vehicles and tools to apply herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and fertilizers
- Use various hand-held sprayers for applying chemicals and fertilizers
- Apply chemicals and fertilizers in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities
- Manage the inventory of materials
- Keep accurate records of chemical and biological agents used during service
- Evaluate and prepare cost estimates for various projects
- Mix and prepare chemical agents for use in pest management and fertilization tasks
- Ensure safe handling and application of chemicals following safety protocols
- Properly dispose of waste and hazardous materials
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and customer satisfaction
- Procure parts, materials, and equipment through written quotes
- Ensure all work activities comply with company safety policies and industry regulations
- Adapt to working in extreme weather conditions and perform mitigation efforts during emergencies
