The Spray Technician role at Champions Retreat Golf Club is critical in maintaining the pristine condition and health of the golf course. This full-time role is designed for individuals passionate about turfgrass management and golf course maintenance who are ready to contribute to a high-profile golf facility. In this position, the Spray Technician will assist in daily course maintenance with a strong focus on chemical and fertilizer application, equipment operation, and adherence to safety standards. Candidates will be supported through comprehensive training in all facets of golf course maintenance and operational management, fostering professional growth and expertise in this specialized field. The role demands a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a detailed understanding of turfgrass care practices as they relate to maintaining championship-quality courses. Key responsibilities include overseeing greens, tees, and fairways maintenance; instructing and supervising equipment operators; ensuring safe and efficient use of chemical application equipment; and managing fertilizer and pesticide records while complying with regulatory requirements. The Spray Technician will also coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations during golf tournaments and daily play. Job Requirements

  • 2-4 year degree in Turfgrass Management or related field
  • Pesticide Applicator License required
  • Minimum of two years golf course experience
  • Strong organizational skills needed
  • Must be a team player with positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently
  • Effective communication skills necessary
  • Availability to work holidays and weekends
  • Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions
  • Physical capability for heavy labor including lifting up to 100 pounds

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist in planning and supervising the maintenance of greens, tees, and fairways
  • Schedule work and supervise employees and equipment use
  • Instruct equipment operators on operation and care of machines
  • Assist in chemical applications and operate/calibrate chemical application equipment
  • Perform safety inspections on spraying equipment
  • Schedule daily activities and maintenance tasks
  • Provide proper training for employees
  • Follow up on progress of assigned daily tasks
  • Properly maintain bunkers
  • Maintain fertilizer and pesticide records
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of maintenance building and grounds
  • Maintain chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with regulations
  • Check equipment and carts for damage and cleanliness
  • Monitor recent weather effects on the golf course
  • Daily monitoring of turf areas for moisture stress
  • Walk on and monitor all greens daily and communicate changes
  • Secure maintenance buildings at the end of the day
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth tournament and play operations
  • Maintain a running list of projects
