The role of a Compounder at Synergy Flavors is critical to their production manufacturing process. This position involves compounding raw materials according to precise formula requirements to fulfill production orders efficiently and accurately. Working in a production facility, the Compounder uses specialized equipment such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks to create ingredients used in various food and beverage products. Attention to detail is essential in weighing and measuring dyes, chemicals, and other substances to ensure each batch meets the company’s exacting quality standards.
The Compounder is responsible for maintaining consistency across batches, measuring viscosity, and taking samples for laboratory testing. Adherence to strict food safety guidelines and accurate documentation are integral to this role. The position operates onsite at Synergy Flavors' facility in Morgan Street, Chicago, Illinois, following standard batch instructions and processes. This is a full-time role with the schedule from Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, offering a starting salary of $20.00 per hour, which may increase with experience.

Job Requirements
- HS diploma/GED preferred
- General knowledge of workplace safety, GMP's, allergens, and quality processes
- Acute attention to detail with ability to consistently produce error-free work
- Strong math skills including addition, division, percentages and ability to use/read scales
- Basic computer skills with RF scanner experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and work while wearing PPE/respirator with medical clearance
- Required to wear a respirator after Doctor's approval and successfully passing fit and pulmonary test
- Effective communication skills to identify and report safety or quality issues to the lead/supervisor
- Prior batching/compounding experience preferred for external candidates
- Internal candidates must demonstrate strong performance and readiness to learn
- Flexibility to work overtime when required

Job Duties
- Follow batching instructions to accurately measure, weigh, and transfer ingredients
- Operate spray dry equipment, liquid reactors, piping, and related parts
- Monitor equipment and control temperatures, consistency, and quality throughout production
- Sample and test finished mixes for required attributes
- Complete all batch sheets, documentation, and paperwork accurately
- Maintain sanitary standards through cleaning (CIP) and proper handling of materials
- Perform all tasks safely, using required PPE, and in compliance with company policies
