Job Description
Global Rock Works is North America’s pioneering rope-access-certified company specializing in geohazard mitigation. We focus on high-angle and remote access projects that require specialized expertise to ensure safety and efficiency in challenging environments. Established as an industry leader, our company is dedicated to providing innovative and reliable solutions for rockfall mitigation, soil nailing, rock bolting, and other geotechnical services. Our teams operate across varied and often remote locations in the United States, including Alaska, California, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, Montana, Nevada, and Washington. We embrace a culture of safety, precision, and professionalism ensuring that our clients’ projects are completed with minimal risk and maximum quality.
The role we are offering is for an experienced Level 3 SPRAT and/or IRATA certified professional with expertise in operating and supervising drilling and installation activities on rugged terrains. This is a full-time position where you will be actively engaged in geohazard mitigation work requiring the use of pneumatic and hydraulic rock drills, soil nail installations, rockfall barrier deployments, and rope access techniques. The candidate will be responsible for performing drilling and installation work in demanding conditions while adhering to stringent safety protocols. You will also oversee daily team operations as a Rope Access Technician/Supervisor, ensuring tasks conform to company safety and productivity standards.
This position demands a strong commitment to safety and physical endurance, as the work often involves exposure to vibration from heavy equipment, working at heights, and maneuvering in steep slopes while suspended on rope access harnesses. The candidate will engage in specialized tasks such as helicopter-supported operations and the use of rotating telehandlers for mesh installation. A solid background in rockfall mitigation methods, including hand and mechanical scaling, rockfall attenuator installation, barrier and debris flow barrier erection, and draped mesh installation, is essential.
Our team environment thrives on collaboration, reliability, and effective communication, with daily pre-task safety meetings and comprehensive project planning. You will be expected to participate in these meetings, promptly report hazards or incidents, and contribute to maintaining organized and orderly worksites and equipment. Given the nature of our projects, willingness to travel extensively (100%) and flexibility regarding work shifts, including 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts and occasional weekend work, is required.
Compensation starts at $40.00 per hour, reflecting the specialized skills and certifications required for this position. We also offer benefits like health insurance reimbursement as part of our commitment to the well-being of our employees.
Join Global Rock Works to engage in challenging and meaningful work that safeguards communities and infrastructure while advancing your career in an industry-leading geotechnical company.
