With a rich heritage and commitment to conservation, Bass Pro Shops has established itself as a leader in the outdoor retail industry, offering a wide range of products catering to fishing, hunting, camping, and other outdoor activities. The company is recognized for its exceptional customer service, immersive retail experiences, and support for outdoor sports and conservation efforts through various initiatives and events.
The Sponsorship Specialist role at Bass Pro Shops is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation and success of OTW (Off The Water) and other tournament events. This full-time position focuses on the detailed coordination and support required to execute competitive angling tournaments and outdoor events efficiently. The primary responsibilities include managing day-to-day communications with anglers, internal teams, local partners, dealers, vendors, and event staff, ensuring all parties involved are informed and aligned for each event component. The role demands strong organizational skills to handle registration logistics, hotel and travel arrangements, volunteer and local staffing coordination, and onsite product and operational needs.
This position is ideal for an event professional who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and possesses a passion for outdoor events and fishing tournaments. Key functions encompass supporting angler communication regarding rules, registration, and event schedules, as well as assisting with event payouts and financial accuracy. The specialist will update digital communications such as website content and email blasts, manage event KPIs, and contribute to post-event reporting and continuous improvement efforts. Additionally, the role involves providing technical support for tournament apps and platforms, coordinating with various internal departments to ensure cohesive event execution, and participating in key event moments including setup, registration, takeoff, weigh-in, awards, and teardown.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service and professionalism while interacting with varied stakeholders such as anglers, dealers, volunteers, and internal teams. The role requires a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities, attention to detail, and comfort in using Microsoft Office Suite and event technology systems. Experience with fishing tournaments or outdoor events is preferred, along with strong communication, organizational, and time management skills. The position involves travel obligations ranging between 25 to 50 percent and requires the physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting event materials and working under varying weather conditions. Bass Pro Shops offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance, retirement savings, paid holidays, vacation, sick time, and discounts on retail merchandise and resorts, supporting employees' well-being and work-life balance.
