Job Description

Banner Health is a leading nonprofit health system renowned for delivering high-quality healthcare services across Arizona. With a commitment to putting patients first, Banner Health operates multiple facilities including hospitals, specialized care centers, and home care services that serve diverse communities throughout the state. Banner Health emphasizes innovation, compassionate care, and continuous improvement to enhance the healthcare experience and outcomes for patients. As one of the largest nonprofit healthcare providers in Arizona, the organization takes pride in its dedicated team of healthcare professionals who focus on patient-centered approaches to care delivery. Banner Staffing Services (BSS) is a division within Banner Health that offers Registry and Per Diem opportunities across various facilities. These flexible positions provide healthcare professionals the chance to gain valuable experience while contributing to one of the most respected health systems in the country. Registry and Per Diem roles are designed for those seeking flexibility and work-life balance, with competitive wages, paid orientation, and weekly pay. This is an excellent entry point for those beginning their careers at Banner Health or looking to supplement their existing employment with additional shifts.

The Home Health Speech Therapist position with Banner Home Care East is an exceptional opportunity for licensed speech-language pathologists to join a dynamic clinical team dedicated to providing compassionate, expert care in patients' homes throughout the East Valley in Arizona. Banner Home Care is ranked among the top 25 percent of home care agencies nationwide and is the largest nonprofit free-standing home care agency in Arizona. The home care environment fosters an autonomous practice setting where therapists can develop personalized treatment plans tailored to patients' unique needs within the comfort of their homes. This role enables therapists to build meaningful relationships with patients by offering individualized rehabilitation services that address speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency disorders. Therapists enjoy the flexibility of designing their schedules, which is often unavailable in traditional hospital settings. The position works primarily weekdays, offering 1:1 care and focusing on helping patients regain function and independence during illness and recovery phases.

As part of the Home Care Team-East under the clinical care category, this role operates primarily on day shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. The initial training period lasts approximately 60 days, during which therapists work 1-2 days per week depending on availability and class schedules. Post-training, the position transitions to a per diem role requiring a minimum of two shifts per month. The job locations encompass multiple cities including Maricopa, Arizona City, Casa Grande, Eloy, and Coolidge, with the main office based at Banner Home Care East in Mesa, AZ.

This position demands a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program, current state licensure, a Certificate of Clinical Competence or acceptance into the Clinical Fellowship Year, and BLS certification. Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within an interdisciplinary healthcare team, proficiency in computer software for patient documentation, and possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card. Preferred qualifications include additional related education or experience to enhance clinical practice.

In addition to meaningful work that impacts patients' lives, Banner Home Health Speech Therapists are offered numerous benefits through Banner Staffing Services, such as competitive wages, paid orientation, flexible schedules, fewer shift cancellations, weekly pay, 403(b) pre-tax retirement plans, employee assistance and wellness programs, discount entertainment, restaurant and shopping perks, and an auto purchase plan. While Registry/Per Diem roles do not guarantee hours or medical benefits, they provide valuable employment opportunities within a supportive and reputable healthcare setting. Overall, this position is ideal for motivated speech therapists seeking autonomy, variety, and the chance to practice in a community-focused, patient-first environment that values high standards of care and professional growth.
