Job Description

Precision Diagnostics is a fast-growing clinical laboratory based in San Diego, California, specializing in drug testing services primarily aimed at supporting physicians in monitoring patients undergoing treatment for pain management or substance abuse. The company is committed to improving patient adherence to prescribed treatment regimens, ensuring medical practices remain protected from liability. With a strong focus on quality and efficient healthcare delivery, Precision Diagnostics fosters an inclusive culture that promotes growth opportunities for both team members and the organization. The company thrives on a culture of engagement, solution-driven mindsets, and committed individuals who strive to provide exceptional healthcare experiences with a focus on respect, compliance, curiosity, and personal ownership of work. Precision Diagnostics stands out by emphasizing the importance of delivering meaningful work that positively impacts patients, communities, and company success.

The Specimen Collector TEMP role at Precision Diagnostics, located in Fort Collins and Loveland, CO, is a full-time temporary assignment that typically lasts three months with the potential for extension or conversion to permanent employment. This position is critical within healthcare operations, tasked with precise and timely specimen collection that directly influences patient care outcomes, organizational growth, and cost reduction across the healthcare system. Specimen collectors play a foundational role in delivering a patient-centered approach, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and efficiency in specimen collection, processing, and shipping.

Specimen collectors must be flexible, as they navigate multiple clinics, and have reliable transportation, including a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a clean motor vehicle record. The job requires knowledge of specimen collection techniques, infection prevention, the proper use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to compliance with healthcare laws and organizational policies. Collectors must possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse patient population and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and clients. They are also responsible for accurate data entry, maintaining hygiene standards, inventory management, and adhering to safety protocols like HIPAA and OSHA.

This role demands individuals who embody Precision’s values, such as striving for greatness, becoming part of the solution, respecting others, committing to compliance, and maintaining openness to change. The ideal candidates are self-motivated, detail-oriented professionals who are eager to learn and contribute beyond their basic job functions. They will help ensure an exceptional patient experience by facilitating accurate specimen collections—whether oral, urine, or blood—and following strict procedures to maintain quality and precision.

This position offers an hourly rate of $20 and includes a comprehensive benefits package with medical, dental, vision, pet insurance options, mental health resources, and legal plans. Additionally, employees enjoy paid time off, paid holidays, 401(k) with company match, education reimbursement, and opportunities for career growth. Precision Diagnostics also has a strong commitment to community involvement through various initiatives such as food drives and sponsoring economically challenged high school students, fostering a supportive work environment with frequent company events to maintain employee engagement.

Candidates interested in joining Precision Diagnostics as Specimen Collectors should have a high school diploma or equivalent, prior experience in specimen collection or related healthcare roles is advantageous but not mandatory. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of specimen handling, infection control practices, and the ability to work within a healthcare facility environment partnering with Precision Diagnostics.
