The Specialty Team Member role demands strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment. Core duties include ensuring product quality aligns with Whole Foods Market’s high standards, maintaining clean and well-stocked displays, engaging proactively with customers to suggest and sell products, and assisting with promotional sampling programs. Additionally, Team Members are responsible for accurate signage and pricing, monitoring inventory to minimize waste, and complying with safety and sanitation standards, including temperature and cleanliness logs.
Physical demands are part of the role, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours during an 8-hour shift, and operate equipment like box cutters and electric pallet jacks. The work setting may involve exposure to varying temperatures and cleaning chemicals, requiring adaptability and a commitment to maintaining safety standards. Flexibility is crucial as Team Members may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Job Requirements
- No prior retail experience required
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand or walk 6 to 8 hours in an 8-hour workday
- Ability to use hand motions including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Ability to perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- Exposure to temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to work in wet and cold environments
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- TIPS course completion required where applicable
- Must be 18 years or older to serve alcohol

- Monitors spoilage and supply waste to minimize impact on department expenses
- Assists with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing
- Maintains back stock in good order
