This position is responsible for all aspects of daily operations, including ensuring profitability through effective expense control, buying, merchandising, labor management, and compliance with regulatory standards. As a leader, the Specialty Team Leader supervises Associate Team Leaders and Team Members, overseeing hiring, development, performance evaluations, and corrective actions to foster a high-performing team environment. Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- standing or walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
- hand use including grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
- able to perform motions like bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- work in temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit to above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- ability to work in wet and cold environments
- flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to use tools and equipment such as box cutters and electric pallet jacks
- age 18 or older and TIPS course completion where applicable
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months retail experience including 12 months of team leadership experience
- advanced knowledge of products, buying, pricing, merchandising, and inventory management
- food safety certification or commitment to complete within 6 months
- excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills
- proficient mathematical skills to assess financial performance and manage inventory
- demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership, and delegation skills
- proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications
Job Duties
- Hold Associate Team Leaders, supervisors, and Team Members accountable for delivering outstanding customer service
- define and develop clear expectations to achieve the highest standards of retail execution
- delegate to and empower Associate Team Leaders and Team Members
- monitor and achieve sales, margin, expense, and labor targets
- maintain proper product assortment, merchandising, and inventory control
- ensure products are cross-merchandised according to guidelines
- adhere to category management schedules and planograms
