Job Requirements
- Experience in Indian cooking with a wide variety of regional cuisines
- Ability to safely handle knives and kitchen equipment including grills fryers ovens and broilers
- Knowledge of food safety food handling and sanitation procedures
- Ability to supervise employees and delegate responsibilities
- Ability to work in a high-volume kitchen environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to collaborate with culinary teams and clients
Job Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years in a related position
- At least 2-3 years of post-high school education preferably a culinary degree
- Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
- Experiential knowledge of management of people and/or problems
- Verbal reading and written communication skills
Job Duties
- Prepare and execute authentic Indian dishes ensuring consistency in flavor presentation and quality
- Develop innovative recipes while preserving traditional Indian culinary techniques and flavors
- Manage daily kitchen operations including inventory control ingredient sourcing and equipment maintenance
- Specialize in tandoor cooking spice blending curry preparation and traditional Indian breads
- Train and supervise kitchen staff on food safety standards and Indian cooking methods
- Maintain strict hygiene sanitation and food safety compliance in a high-volume environment
- Collaborate with Executive Chef to design menus seasonal offerings and event catering selections
- Oversee catering events and ensure efficient execution of large-scale food production
- Control food costs through accurate forecasting purchasing and waste reduction strategies
