The Dermatology Specialty Business Manager (SBM) role at Takeda is a critical position within the Dermatology sales force. This role is focused on driving demand for dermatology products primarily through educating healthcare providers (HCPs) following potential regulatory product approvals. The SBM works closely with targeted physicians, specialty clinics, and hospital accounts specializing in dermatology to optimize business opportunities. This role requires a combination of clinical selling skills, strategic planning capabilities, and strong relationship building with healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and effective use of Takeda’s products.
The Specialty Business Manager plays an essential role in the full spectrum of sales and education activities. They support account onboarding by educating medical staff, delivering clinical value propositions, and advancing customers through brand educational cycles. The SBM is also responsible for coordinating and supporting clinical education programs, including peer-to-peer education for HCPs to strengthen product knowledge and patient care outcomes.
In addition to sales responsibilities, the SBM manages account relationships in dermatology practices, clinics, and physician offices within their assigned territory. They are expected to meet or exceed sales goals by effectively executing brand strategies customized to local market dynamics. The role involves developing and delivering targeted sales messages based on clinical data and approved marketing materials. Furthermore, the SBM exemplifies Takeda’s commitment to high standards of customer service, compliance, and ethical business practices.
Takeda offers a competitive hourly wage range from $63.51 to $87.31 for this full-time, regular employee position, with potential eligibility for short-term incentives. Employees are provided with comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plans with company match, disability coverage, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, and vacation benefits. The work location is California-based (virtual), with some required travel (up to 25-50%) including overnight stays to meet customers and attend business meetings.
This position requires a bachelor's degree, at least 3 years of successful selling experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, medical devices, or relevant clinical or industry experience, or alternatively 2+ years of successful selling experience at Takeda. Strong communication, strategic planning, and collaboration skills are critical to this role. The candidate must reside within or close to the assigned geography and hold a valid driver's license. Upon hire, the employee must successfully complete mandatory product training, which includes written and oral examinations, transitioning from non-exempt to exempt status after training completion.
Takeda Pharmaceuticals fosters a diverse and inclusive work environment and provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants. The Dermatology Specialty Business Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patient outcomes while advancing your career in a supportive, innovative, and ethical organization.
