Job Description
Takeda Pharmaceutical Company is a leading global biopharmaceutical organization committed to delivering innovative and life-transforming medicines to patients worldwide. The company prioritizes research and development to address unmet medical needs, particularly within the fields of oncology, gastroenterology, neuroscience, and rare diseases. With a rich heritage and a patient-centered approach, Takeda fosters an inclusive workplace that empowers employees to bring their best efforts to improve patient outcomes and advance healthcare standards globally. They are dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that every employee and applicant is respected and valued regardless of background. Takeda operates in numerous countries, including a strong presence in the United States, where it offers competitive compensation and benefits to its workforce.
The Specialty Business Manager (SBM), Dermatology, plays a crucial role within Takeda’s Dermatology sales force, which is primarily responsible for driving demand following potential regulatory approvals of assigned products through comprehensive education initiatives. This role focuses on engaging healthcare providers (HCPs) across targeted physician offices, key clinics, and hospital accounts specializing in dermatology. The SBM’s responsibility is to develop and implement strategic business processes that benefit patients, contribute to company growth, and achieve sales objectives. By educating medical professionals on the clinical value of Takeda’s dermatology portfolio and patient support services, the SBM directly influences the optimization of business opportunities within their assigned territory.
In this full-time, non-exempt position with a stated hourly wage ranging from $63.51 to $87.31, the successful candidate will reside within or near the assigned geographic territory, such as regions in South Carolina including Florence and Myrtle Beach, with flexibility to work virtually. The SBM will conduct clinical selling activities including account onboarding education, peer-to-peer clinical education programs, and the development and delivery of targeted sales messaging that aligns with approved marketing materials. This role requires a strategic approach to marketing execution at the local level, collaboration across teams, and meticulous resource management including financial budgets and internal partnerships. The SBM is accountable for building and sustaining professional relationships with healthcare professionals and decision-makers to support the safe, effective use of Takeda’s products and to meet sales targets.
Takeda places high value on compliance, integrity, and leadership demonstrated through adherence to policies and ethical standards. The SBM will be required to pass mandatory product training examinations and undergo continuous learning to stay current with disease states, treatment advances, and the evolving healthcare environment. Travel is essential to the role, including driving or flying to accounts and attending occasional business meetings, with overnight travel approximating 25-50 percent based on territory demands. By joining Takeda, the SBM will contribute to a patient-first culture within an innovative pharmaceutical company dedicated to transforming healthcare and delivering impactful therapeutic solutions.
