The role of Assistant Team Leader at Whole Foods Market is a pivotal position that supports the Team Leader in managing all aspects of daily store operations. This includes overseeing profitability, expense control, inventory management, purchasing, merchandising, labor management, regulatory compliance, and special projects. The Assistant Team Leader plays a key role in fostering a positive environment, leading and developing team members, and ensuring that all employees are trained in accordance with store standard operating procedures. In this position, the Assistant Team Leader helps develop creative store layouts and merchandising strategies, works closely with the Team Leader to monitor sales and labor targets, and assists in preparing budgets and sales projections. The position involves cultivating teamwork, mutual respect, and high morale, while ensuring customer satisfaction through responsive service. The position requires at least 18 months of retail team member experience and a minimum of 6 months in a supervisory role. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours during an 8-hour shift, perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions, and safely use equipment like box cutters and pallet jacks. Candidates must be able to work in varying temperature conditions, including cold and wet environments, and have a flexible schedule accommodating nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. The wage range for this role is $20.05 to $35.00 hourly, depending on experience. Job Requirements

  • At least 18 months retail Team Member experience
  • minimum 6 months of supervisory experience
  • ability to lift 50 pounds
  • ability to stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
  • ability to perform hand use skills including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • ability to perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • ability to work in temperatures below freezing, refrigeration, and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
  • where applicable, completion of TIPS course and must be 18 years or older to serve alcohol
