The role of Assistant Team Leader at Whole Foods Market is a pivotal position that supports the Team Leader in managing all aspects of daily store operations. This includes overseeing profitability, expense control, inventory management, purchasing, merchandising, labor management, regulatory compliance, and special projects. The Assistant Team Leader plays a key role in fostering a positive environment, leading and developing team members, and ensuring that all employees are trained in accordance with store standard operating procedures. The position requires at least 18 months of retail team member experience and a minimum of 6 months in a supervisory role. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours during an 8-hour shift, perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions, and safely use equipment like box cutters and pallet jacks. Candidates must be able to work in varying temperature conditions, including cold and wet environments, and have a flexible schedule accommodating nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. The wage range for this role is $20.05 to $35.00 hourly, depending on experience.
