The company is committed to responsibly and safely delivering energy across the United States, serving as a vital link in America’s energy supply chain. Energy Transfer's operations span various aspects of the energy sector from natural gas pipelines to refined products distribution. Their organizational culture emphasizes safety, sustainability, and community engagement, supporting causes such as MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital, The Salvation Army, The American Red Cross, and Ronald McDonald House. With a workforce of 12,000 employees, Energy Transfer fosters an inclusive and dynamic workplace that encourages continuous growth and development. Besides competitive salary packages, the company provides comprehensive benefits including a 401(k) match with additional profit sharing, paid time off, and numerous career advancement opportunities, ensuring employees thrive personally and professionally.
The role being offered is based in Aston, Pennsylvania, supporting Energy Transfer's Product Quality Assurance program. This position is critical for maintaining the high-quality standards of refined petroleum products as they move through the distribution system in the Philadelphia area. The primary responsibility involves monitoring and evaluating the quality of refined products received, transferred, and shipped by the company. The successful candidate will obtain product samples from pipelines and storage tanks and conduct precise laboratory testing using ASTM Test Methods and API Standards to verify that the product quality meets company and industry specifications. The role involves detailed evaluation of test data, investigation of product quality abnormalities, and effective communication of findings and recommendations to quality assurance management.
This position requires someone who can work independently with minimal supervision, adapt to changing pipeline schedules, multitask efficiently, and prioritize workload accordingly. The job demands flexibility, as the work schedule includes 12-hour rotating shifts covering 365 days a year. The candidate must be able to handle the physical demands of the job such as prolonged periods of sitting or standing and exposure to industrial environments that include loud machinery, chemicals, and varying weather conditions when obtaining pipeline samples. The role also calls for excellent communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external customers alike. Additionally, the incumbent must be responsive outside regular hours, carrying a cell phone and being available for 24/7 calls, sometimes providing emergency response if needed. Overall, this position offers a vital role within a well-established and respected energy company, ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in petroleum product handling, laboratory skills, and quality assurance practices who is eager to contribute to Energy Transfer's mission of fueling the world safely and sustainably.
