The company prides itself on providing extraordinary vacation experiences while promoting an ethical and inclusive workplace culture. Located primarily in South Florida with a large operational presence in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, Carnival is committed to employee development and work-life balance, offering hybrid work models and extensive benefits.
The Specialist, Event Planning role at Carnival Cruise Line is an exciting opportunity to lead the design, planning, execution, and post-event analysis of premium events targeted at the travel agent distribution channel and Sales Leadership teams. This position focuses on delivering elevated, high-visibility experiences such as galas, executive meetings, partner conferences, inaugural ship celebrations, and shipboard event programming like tours and seminars. The Specialist manages more than 50 events annually, ensuring alignment with business objectives, brand standards, and operational excellence.
This full-time, in-office position requires the Specialist to work from Carnival’s South Florida office Monday through Thursday, with Fridays remote. Travel is integral to the role, including regular shipboard visits for event oversight, amounting to approximately 25-50% travel. The role demands strong project management skills, creativity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with senior executives and multiple stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include developing and coordinating all event logistics, from venue sourcing and vendor negotiation to managing budgets and attendee communications. The role supports presentation content development for events, working closely with senior leadership to ensure messaging aligns with business goals and audience needs. Additionally, the Specialist leads onsite event execution and collaborates extensively across departments such as Sales, Trade Marketing, Shipboard Operations, and Creative Services.
Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, or Business, or equivalent experience with an associate’s degree and additional years in the field. A minimum of three years of relevant experience is preferred, alongside proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Prior experience in the cruise or hotel industries, event planning, marketing, or trade shows enhances candidacy.
This role offers a comprehensive rewards package including competitive salary, annual cash bonus programs, health benefits, financial plans such as 401(k) with company match, paid time off with holidays, vacation and sick leave, as well as exclusive employee discounts and professional development resources. Physical demands are typical of office-based work, and occasional extended hours may be required. Candidates must be located or willing to relocate to the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
