The Specialist - Events for Meetings & Social Groups (M+SG) at The Venetian Resort plays a pivotal role within the Event Management team. This professional is responsible for both front-end and back-end operational support for events, acting as the critical hub for lead intake and qualification of all event inquiries specifically related to the hotel’s unique venues. The role demands deep understanding of the resort's systems, venue capabilities, and internal business rules to effectively build the foundational event framework before the event is handed over to an Event Manager. Additionally, this Specialist is responsible for managing the post-event financial reconciliation process to ensure accurate billing and revenue integrity. The position requires close collaboration with multiple departments to maintain seamless event processes, especially for events in non-primary convention center spaces.

The Specialist is the primary point of contact for qualifying and converting leads for meetings and social group business. This includes analyzing inbound event inquiries, determining the appropriate service channel, and creating complex master accounts and room blocks within the resort systems. The role further involves executing detailed post-event financial audits and reconciliation procedures to close out events accurately and promptly, ensuring financial records are complete for incentive payments. The Specialist also acts as a subject matter expert for event billing and system architecture, providing critical financial support to Event Managers, internal partners, and clients alike. This comprehensive role supports smaller-scale corporate, tradeshow, and social event programs from the inquiry stage through to final billing.

Job Requirements

  • 21 years of age
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license as required by law or policy
  • 2 years of experience in food and beverage preferred
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in a hospitality services position
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, LMS, EBMS, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and Social Tables
  • Working knowledge of MICE industry
  • 1-year prior experience in groups or hotel hospitality preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning and/or administrative support preferred
  • Working knowledge of various food service styles preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both spoken and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary intake and qualification specialist for all M+SG business, analyzing inbound leads to strategically determine the service path, converting qualified opportunities
  • Construct the foundational framework for events by building complex master accounts, establishing room blocks, and structuring billing pathways within the resort's systems, ensuring a seamless transition to the assigned Event Manager
  • Own and complete post-event financial lifecycle, performing comprehensive audits, executing all reconciliation and closing procedures for master accounts, and ensuring accurate accounting to the Incentive Team for Service Charges/Administrative Fees payout
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key operational departments to proactively solve challenges and optimize event processes for non-primary convention center spaces
  • Act as the subject matter expert for event billing and system architecture, providing critical support to Event Managers and resolving financial inquiries
  • Execute designated end-to-end event programs, managing smaller-scale corporate, tradeshow, and social events from initial inquiry through final billing
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
