The Specialist, Events position is a vital role within Travel + Leisure Co., responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a wide variety of events that align with the company’s strategic objectives and departmental guidelines. This role involves managing all aspects of event logistics, including venue procurement, entertainment booking, dining arrangements, transportation, and vendor partnerships to ensure each event delivers an exceptional guest and stakeholder experience. The Specialist acts as a central liaison between internal teams, site leaders, guests, and external vendors to guarantee seamless event execution from inception to completion.

In addition to handling core event responsibilities, the Specialist, Events works closely with field sales and marketing teams to identify unique opportunities to increase onsite owner tour participation by implementing strategic event offerings that resonate with owners and drive high guest satisfaction scores. This position requires significant travel—between 80% to 90% of the time—including nights and weekends, to provide face-to-face interactions with Travel + Leisure Co. owners, resort marketing and sales leaders, and venue personnel. The role also involves hosting events within assigned markets and occasionally supporting events in other regions, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, revenue-generating events.

Successful candidates for this role will possess strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to work independently while exercising discretion and sound judgment. They must be proactive, communicative, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment. The Specialist, Events will play an important part in enhancing the company’s brand presence by delivering memorable event experiences that contribute to overall business growth and customer loyalty.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent college degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing campaign strategy or loyalty marketing
  • 2+ years of experience managing external vendors agencies or direct reports
  • Understanding of timeshare industry products and clubs
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Strong motivation to learn willingness to be a team player yet operate independently while exercising discretion and independent judgment
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint Excel Outlook
  • Proficiency in Adobe Professional

Job Duties

  • Host all event types across Travel + Leisure Co. brands onsite and offsite engaging with owners resort and venue personnel and marketing and sales leaders
  • Research event logistics and determine overall event concepts that remain inside monetary budgets and lead to sales success
  • Build strategic relationships with site sales and marketing leaders to enhance event quality guest satisfaction and operational efficiencies
  • Plan and manage multiple events at various stages simultaneously
  • Communicate with site-level sales and marketing business operations and resort operations leaders to ensure events are executed on schedule and objectives are achieved
  • Submit event details proformas and contracts to senior leadership for cost approvals
