The Specialist role within the Security Administration department is an hourly, full-time evening shift position with a competitive pay range of $33.04 to $46.67 per hour. This role is pivotal in the development of the Corporate Security Team as a service line, specifically supporting the mission to compassionately protect people, property, and the quality of the health system. The Executive Protection Specialist (EPS) is responsible for providing safe and efficient transport and protection services for senior leadership and management, ensuring their safety during transfers to various designated or requested locations.

The Specialist will deliver executive transportation services that avoid potential harm, leveraging expertise in defensive driving, executive protection tactics, and vehicle maintenance. This individual will also engage in law enforcement liaison activities, special event security, and physical security duties as required and will be armed, complying with all federal and state firearm laws. The role demands exceptional driving skills, extensive knowledge of security procedures, crisis de-escalation capabilities, and a strong commitment to professional integrity and confidentiality.

Duties include conducting patrols to maintain a secure environment, coordinating transportation for executives, liaising with law enforcement agencies, handling emergency situations, and managing security access controls. The Specialist must demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills to interact professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information related to corporate executives. This position requires excellent physical fitness, including the ability to perform defensive driving maneuvers and provide first aid, CPR, and AED assistance when necessary.

Candidates for this position must hold a valid Retired Police Officer permit, a Level 2 Armed Security Officer license under the New Jersey Security Officer Registration Act (SORA), possess a New Jersey Permit to Carry a Handgun, and be able to maintain these credentials throughout their employment. The role emphasizes continual training, including annual defensive driver training and certification in de-escalation techniques within the first 90 days of hire.
