Job Description
Sysco Central Florida, Inc. is a prominent subsidiary of Sysco Corporation, the global leader in foodservice distribution. Sysco operates across approximately 333 distribution facilities worldwide, supporting over 700,000 customer locations with a fleet of more than 13,000 vehicles. Known for its commitment to excellence, Sysco Central Florida serves a diverse range of customers in the foodservice industry, delivering a vast variety of products including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies. The company prides itself on fostering a culture of growth, professionalism, and customer satisfaction, making it an attractive employer for individuals seeking a dynamic and rewarding career in logistics and delivery services.
Sysco Central Florida offers a dependable and rewarding position for Class C Special Delivery Truck Drivers. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of a delivery truck to distribute products directly to customer locations on a set route schedule. Drivers play an essential role in the organization's success by building strong relationships with customers and becoming familiar with their operational needs. The role encourages a positive and friendly attitude, enhancing customer service and ensuring customer expectations are consistently met.
While a Class A or B commercial driver's license is not mandatory for this role, candidates who possess such qualifications may be called upon to operate tractor-trailer vehicles as needed, provided all Department of Transportation (DOT) driver qualification requirements are met. The position emphasizes safety, customer interaction, and operational efficiency, making it ideal for individuals who take pride in their driving skills and their role in the foodservice supply chain.
Flexibility and reliability are key, as drivers must adhere to delivery schedules and manage the physical demands of the job. These demands include manually unloading and delivering various products, some of which can weigh up to 100 pounds. Drivers must maintain the ability to effectively communicate in English to interact with customers, understand traffic signals, and complete required reports and records accurately.
The employment type is full-time with a competitive pay structure that reflects the candidate's skills, work experience, and location. Sysco Central Florida also offers an attractive benefits package, including comprehensive healthcare coverage, paid vacation and holidays, retirement benefits, employee discount programs, ongoing training, and uniform provisions. These benefits, combined with regular daily routes and opportunities for career growth, make this position a viable career path for motivated individuals seeking stability and advancement in the transportation and logistics sector.
Sysco Central Florida stands as more than just a workplace; it is a community focused on supporting its employees and customers alike. Their dedication to continuous improvement and operational excellence reinforces their position as a leader in the industry. Candidates ready to contribute to Sysco's ongoing success and drive excellence are encouraged to apply and join a company that values hard work, integrity, and customer service.
