Known for a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and exceptional customer service, Signal supports event organizers by ensuring secure and well-managed environments. The company emphasizes professionalism and teamwork, making it a trusted partner for venues and event hosts, particularly in downtown Wilmington. Signal’s focus on delivering tailored security solutions during concert seasons and other special events has established it as a leader in the local event security sector.
The role of an Event Staff Security Officer with Signal is a part-time position designed for those seeking employment during the concert season in downtown Wilmington. Officers are responsible for guaranteeing the safety and security of guests, staff, and event premises. This position pays $18.00 per hour and offers immediate cash payment at the end of each event, appealing to individuals looking for flexible work with prompt remuneration. The primary responsibilities include conducting thorough entry screenings, pat downs, and bag inspections to prevent prohibited items from entering venues. Officers must tactfully communicate rules and restrictions to guests, balancing security with excellent customer service. This role demands a professional attitude, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, often noisy environments.
Working as a Signal Event Staff Security Officer means more than just enforcing rules; it involves delivering an enriching customer experience by assisting guests with special needs such as ADA accommodations and responding to any special requests. Officers are trained to monitor crowd behavior closely, identify any suspicious activities, and escalate concerns to supervisors or law enforcement as necessary. Detailed reporting using web or app-based company software is also an essential aspect of the job, ensuring accurate documentation of each shift’s occurrences and any incidents.
Soft skills are highly valued in this role. Signal looks for individuals with a strong service orientation, positivity, effective communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities on event days. Candidates must be capable of working nights, weekends, and holidays, demonstrating flexibility and dedication. Physically, officers must be able to stand for prolonged periods and occasionally lift or move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. The work environment can vary from loud event spaces to outdoors in inclement weather, requiring resilience and readiness to operate under diverse conditions.
Overall, this role offers an exciting opportunity for those interested in event security, combining safety enforcement with a customer-focused approach. Signal fosters an inclusive work environment and is an equal opportunity employer ensuring fair treatment and opportunities regardless of race, gender, or other protected characteristics. Join Signal to be part of a dynamic team that plays a crucial role in making special events safe and enjoyable for everyone involved.
