Job Description
Signal is a leading security services provider, specializing in delivering professional security solutions for a broad range of venues and special events. Known for their commitment to safety and exceptional customer service, Signal operates across various cities, providing well-trained security personnel who ensure both safety and a welcoming atmosphere. As a dedicated part-time event security staffing service located primarily in downtown Wilmington, Signal focuses on creating secure environments during concert seasons and other significant public gatherings. Their emphasis on reliability, professionalism, and effective crowd management positions them as a trusted security partner for event organizers and venue managers alike.
The role of an Event Staff Security Officer at Signal is a dynamic and essential position focused on maintaining the safety and security of all guests attending large-scale public events such as concerts. This role is part-time, ideal for individuals interested in security work during peak event seasons, particularly downtown Wilmington's vibrant concert schedule. Officers in this position are expected to enforce security protocols diligently, including conducting entry screenings and physical pat downs as necessary to prevent prohibited items from entering the venue. Officers will be responsible for tactfully communicating with attendees to ensure compliance with security rules while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor to support positive customer interactions.
Additionally, officers will assist guests with special accommodations and queries, including ADA-related questions, demonstrating a commitment to inclusive customer service. Vigilance is critical in this role, as officers must monitor crowd activities closely and report any suspicious behavior promptly to supervisors or law enforcement. The position also requires adherence to internal company policies, including equipment management, detailed incident reporting via technology platforms, and compliance with dress codes and punctuality standards.
Working conditions for this job may include exposure to loud environments and adverse weather conditions during events, reflecting the realities of large outdoor and indoor venues. Physical demands include the ability to stand for extended periods, climb stairs routinely, and handle equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Candidates must also have reliable transportation to event locations to ensure timely arrival and the consistency required in this safety-focused role.
This role offers a competitive wage of $18.00 per hour, with the added benefit of cash payment at the conclusion of each event, presenting an attractive opportunity for candidates seeking flexible, event-centered employment. Signal prioritizes the recruitment of service-minded individuals who exemplify professionalism, effective communication skills, and a genuine desire to contribute to safe and enjoyable event experiences. Additionally, the company fosters an inclusive workplace, actively promoting equal opportunity employment without discrimination based on personal characteristics or protected statuses.
