The local government is committed to maintaining the town's unique charm and ensuring a high quality of life through dedicated public service and resource management. The Town's administration focuses on fostering a collaborative environment where its employees are valued for their contributions and empowered to make a positive impact on the community. With a reputation for excellence in municipal governance, Hilton Head Island offers a workplace culture that balances professionalism with a supportive atmosphere.

We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Special Events Coordinator to join the Community Engagement department. This position offers a full-time, permanent role with a competitive salary range of $49,100 to $76,100 per year. In this capacity, the coordinator will provide both technical and administrative support, acting as a key liaison between event organizers and various Town departments.

The role requires a highly organized professional who can navigate the complexities of event management within a municipal framework. Responsibilities include receiving and reviewing special event applications for accuracy and completeness, tracking application statuses, coordinating internal reviews, and following up with applicants to ensure compliance with Town regulations. The coordinator will also handle logistical elements such as obtaining payments for permit fees and security services, administering refunds, and preparing all necessary permits and correspondence for approved events. Scheduling and coordinating internal meetings and gathering post-event feedback are also integral to this position.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of related experience, combined with a high school diploma or equivalent education. Flexibility in scheduling is essential as the role may occasionally require working varied hours to meet event demands. Hilton Head Island values employees who are proactive, communicative, and committed to excellence in public service.

Joining our team means becoming part of an organization dedicated to community enrichment and operational excellence. You will be contributing to the safety, accessibility, and success of community events that enrich the lives of residents and visitors alike. The Town of Hilton Head Island offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability coverage, paid vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, a healthcare reimbursement arrangement, and a generous matching 401(k) plan. Relocation assistance is also available for qualifying candidates who are eager to join this dynamic community.

If you are passionate about event coordination, community engagement, and public service, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in a supportive and rewarding environment.
