The Foundation plays a vital role in supporting this mission by raising funds to enhance patient care, advance research, and expand community programs.

The Special Event and Development Specialist at Brooks Health Foundation is a dynamic role focused on the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising and community engagement events that support the broader goals of the Brooks Rehabilitation system of care. These events are pivotal in securing the funding necessary to sustain and grow the Foundation’s impact. The role demands strategic thinking, organizational excellence, and strong interpersonal skills to cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners.

The Specialist contributes significantly to the Brooks Health Foundation’s success by setting and meeting annual net revenue goals through effective event management and donor engagement. This individual will lead event chairs and committees to secure sponsorships and participation, provide timely communication and outreach, and promote stewardship of all donations.

In addition to managing fundraising events, the role encompasses supporting community engagement efforts throughout the Brooks Rehabilitation system, which may extend beyond the Jacksonville area. This includes procuring branded materials, collaborating with internal departments, and liaising with community contacts to maximize sponsorship benefits. The Specialist also assists with donor recognition programs and serves as a liaison for new prospects originating from various sources, including grateful patients and local corporations.

Success in this position requires an individual who can multitask efficiently, maintain strict attention to detail, and exercise independent judgment while managing confidential information. The ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, and to provide excellent customer service is essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience in face-to-face fundraising are also critical to the role.

Brooks Health Foundation offers a supportive and collaborative work environment where employees can thrive professionally and personally. In addition to competitive pay, the Foundation provides a comprehensive benefits package, vacation and paid time off, a retirement plan, and employee discounts.
