Job Description

Palm Beach Day Academy, founded in 1920, is a prestigious independent coeducational day school located in Palm Beach, Florida. Serving students from age 2 through Grade 8 across two vibrant campuses, PBDA is deeply committed to fostering an academically rigorous and compassion-rich environment. The school is dedicated to guiding each child toward personal excellence in mind, body, and character. By challenging students to excel, empowering them to act, and preparing them to lead, Palm Beach Day Academy instills values that shape confident, capable, and ethical leaders of the future.

The role of Special Events and Community Relations Manager at Palm Beach Day Academy is a pivotal position designed to support the school’s mission through strategic event planning and community engagement. This full-time role involves developing and executing a comprehensive events strategy that aligns seamlessly with the organizational goals and mission identity of PBDA. The manager will take the lead in planning and implementing a wide array of special events, including internal gatherings, fundraising campaigns, community outreach initiatives, and other key functions that support the school’s strategic objectives.

As the Special Events and Community Relations Manager, you will be responsible for managing volunteers, coordinating with vendors and venues, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Your expertise will ensure flawless event execution from concept to completion, maintaining a high standard of quality and service at all times. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing and communications, as well as admissions, you will drive cohesive messaging, branding, and promotional strategies to maximize event impact.

The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in event management with a proven track record of overseeing large-scale events. Exceptional project management skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively are essential. Experience in volunteer management and familiarity with event management software such as Cvent and Eventbrite will greatly benefit this role. Additional familiarity with educational or nonprofit organizations, digital marketing tools including major social media platforms, and audiovisual requirements for live events will enhance your capacity to innovate and engage attendees fully.

Palm Beach Day Academy offers a dynamic and rewarding work environment where your contributions directly influence the school’s community and support its mission of excellence. The position provides the opportunity to lead impactful events that inspire and connect students, families, faculty, and the broader community.
