The Special Event Employee plays a crucial role within this department, primarily focused on managing parking logistics during various special events on the university campus. This position is part-time and offers a pay rate of $15.00 per hour, with working hours that vary according to the scheduled special events on campus. The employee is trained to assist guests in finding appropriate parking areas, collect parking fees, maintain order, and provide excellent customer service throughout the events. The role requires the ability to work efficiently in diverse weather conditions, standing, walking, sitting, and some light lifting up to 30 pounds.

This position is essential to ensuring a positive parking experience for visitors attending special events, which can range from athletic competitions and cultural performances to conferences and community gatherings. Job Duties

  • Collect parking fees with accuracy and customer service
  • prepare and complete accurate records and reports
  • assist customers courteously and answer general questions
  • perform traffic control responsibilities
  • respond to guest questions, concerns, and complaints timely and courteously
  • monitor radio traffic and communicate with coworkers and management
  • audit cars and monitor parking space availability and safety
  • change signage at parking locations and communicate as needed
