Job Requirements

  • High school education or GED equivalent
  • five years of food services or related experience
  • management experience preferred
  • Certified Dietary Manager certificate or comparable modified diet experience preferred
  • ability to operate standard kitchen equipment
  • knowledge of sanitation and food safety standards
  • good communication and leadership skills
  • ability to lift 10-50 lbs occasionally
  • willingness to travel between schools and offices
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or GED equivalent
  • five years of food services or related experience
  • preferred management experience
  • Certified Dietary Manager certificate or comparable experience with modified diets in a regulated field
  • strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • proficiency with kitchen equipment and basic computer technology
  • ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with diverse populations
  • understanding of food safety and sanitation protocols

Job Duties

  • Maintain food accuracy and student safety across the district
  • estimate and requisition quantities of food and supplies
  • coordinate inventory and prevent waste
  • schedule food preparation, cart setup, and cleaning tasks
  • monitor cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards
  • coordinate production schedules with other departments
  • inspect and taste food products for quality and safety
  • direct daily food distribution and delivery routes
  • calculate recipes, menu ingredients, allergen compatibility, and component contribution
  • ensure safe operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • support Summer Food Service Program with planning, coverage, and training
  • handle minor employee discipline and motivation
  • maintain communication with Specialist Dietitian
  • assist with additional duties as assigned
